What we're about
Justice 4 Jaws’ focus is to educate the youth of South Africa by sharing factual
scientific information about sharks and rays. The aim of this is to ultimately alter the
negative perceptions of these species, in addition to offering ways in which the South African
youth and environmentally conscious individuals can assist with the conservation of
local sharks and rays.

Misson Statement
Justice 4 Jaws’ focus is to educate the youth of South Africa by sharing factual, scientific information about sharks. The aim of this is to ultimately alter the negative perceptions of this species, in addition to offering ways in which the South African youth and environmentally conscious individuals can assist with the conservation of South African sharks (and rays).
Our Objectives
Justice 4 Jaws is a non-profit organisation that exists to create awareness, educate and inspire the South African youth and environmentally conscious individuals about sharks and rays found in South African waters. The 2021 objectives are as follows:
- Inspire others, to promote conservation and protection of sharks.
- Educate society about sharks (and rays) through online workshops, face-to-face workshops for learners, and sending one or two youth candidates on shark-based/ chondrichthyan internships in 2021.
- Encourage those who attended the workshops/educational events to share and spread the knowledge they acquired.
- Improve the understanding of the role that sharks play within the marine ecosystem and the threats they are facing.
- Increase sharks’ popularity, while actively motivating the advancement of shark protection, as well as shifting the negative perception of sharks.
- Inspire more individuals to get involved for the benefit of sharks.
